WW provides products and services that are focused on the development of healthy habits, including weight loss, weight maintenance, fitness, and a healthy mindset. WW was originally founded in 1963 in New York City by a homemaker named Jean Nidetch. WW headquarters are still located in New York City. As of 2018, the company provides services via three methods which include online coaching via mobile app and the company’s website, coaching delivered via the website or over the phone, and in-person meetings around the world. WW states their goal is to help participants lose weight by forming healthy habits, eating smarter, getting more exercise, and receiving support.
WW memberships are available in three plans. The digital-only plan which includes access to mobile and website-based tools is available for $12.92 per month. Workshop plans include all the digital tools as well as in-person workshops and weekly check-ins and guidance from coaches. These plans are available for $44.95 for a monthly plan, $28.60 per month for a 3-month plan, or $26.76 per month for a 12-month plan. Personal coaching plans are available for $54.95 per month. All plans renew automatically each month. Monthly plans can be cancelled at any time, 3-month and 12-month plans are commitment plans and will incur a fee for cancelling before the end of the commitment term.
