THE Rivers State Government said on Wednesday that it would set up a task force to monitor and enforce strict compliance with COVID-19 guidelines ahead the August 4 school resumption date for exit classes.
The State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Kaniye Ebeku, who stated this shortly after a meeting with staff of the ministry in Port Harcourt, said the state was prepared for the resumption announced by the Federal Government.
Ebeku stated that measures were in place to ensure a safe environment for the students and their teachers, saying, “All schools must ensure strict enforcement of COVID-19 guidelines. A taskforce will be constituted to monitor compliance and enforcement of extant protocols for COVID-19.”
He further said the ministry would also deploy its staff “to ensure strict compliance with the wearing of nose masks and other COVID-19 hygiene protocols within the school premises.”
