Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele admits he and manager Jose Mourinho have butted heads.

Ndombele was outstanding in victory at Manchester United on Sunday.

Ndombele admitted: “The manager and I had a number of differences of opinion last season.

“But since then we have each tried to put our egos to one side, and to move on for the sake of the club.

“For the time being things are working for the best, and let’s try to continue in this manner.”

The midfielder added: “It was an exceptional result. It is no small matter for sure, and everything we tried came off.

“Nobody would have backed us to achieve it, especially to win 6-1 after giving away a penalty in the first minute.

“But we managed to keep our heads up, and soon score our first two goals.

“Then Anthony’s (Martial) red card definitely changed the game.”
