Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane is eager to see Sergio Ramos sign a new contract.

Ramos’ current deal expires in June and is yet to hear from the board about a new contract.

The defender scored his 100th goal for the club in their Champions League win over Inter Milan last night and Zidane was asked about Ramos’ contract situation: As always, he is our captain, our leader.

“We want him here forever, it is what he is doing, showing that he always wants to. I have no doubt that he will stay and that he will continue to make history.

“We know what player he is. I’m happy for him. He’s been important to us again, I’m happy for what he’s doing.”
