Paul Onuachu has missed out on the Belgium Golden Shoe awarded to the best player in that country after he placed a distant third in the vote.
The Genk striker is the leading scorer in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League with 19 goals in as many games, but he only polled 87 points to miss out on the big prize Wednesday night.
Antwerp midfielder Lior Rafaelov won the prestigious award with 271 points to beat Raphael Holzhauser from Beerschot, who polled 187 points.
Former Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet now of Club Bruge was fourth on 75 points, while young forward also from Club Brugge, Charles De Ketelaere, got 72 points.
This was the 67th edition of the award and it is sponsored by the newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws, HLN.
