Nigerian point guard Gabe Vincent scored a career-high 24 points while his compatriot Precious Achiuwa marked his first career double-double in Miami Heat’s 137-134 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers in the National Basketball League on Wednesday.

Vincent was handed a starting spot by Heat’s coach Erik Spoelstra after injuries to several first team players as well as COVID-19 complications.

The 24-year-old posted 24 points, two rebounds and three assists in 36 minutes. The game was his first start for the team and 11th career NBA game since joining the side on a two-way contract in January 2020.

Achiuwa produced his first double-double with a career-high 17 points, 13 rebounds, three assists and one block in 36 minutes for Heat during the 137-134 overtime loss to the 76ers.

The Port Harcourt-born power forward tallied four points and four rebounds alone in extra time of the game but was not enough to hand his team the win at the Wells Fargo Centre, Philadelphia.
