Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has spoken of his pride after their stunning defeat of Manchester City.
Lyon shocked City 3-1 in last night’s Champions League quarterfinal triumph. OL will now meet Bayern Munich in the semis.
Aulas enthused: “It’s wonderful. We have a club that has managed to transcend itself, to regroup and since we had good players and only the mental side was lacking, this competition comes at the right time.
“The emotions are greater than you could imagine, it’s great. It is a kind of resonance compared to what we have experienced in recent months. This injustice that stopped us when there were ten matches to play in the Championship.
“City were back to 1-1, but to score 2-1 and then 3-1 is unimaginable. I am very happy for the people of Lyon, it puts OL in its place.”
