Kostas Tsimikas has returned to training at Liverpool.

The defender had been absent since reportedly testing positive for coronavirus after joining up with the Greece squad during the international break, reports the London Evening Standard.

Consequently, he missed out on the season-opening meeting with Leeds United that saw Jurgen Klopp’s side run out 4-3 winners.

However, Tsimikas was photographed in training on Wednesday afternoon, signalling his readiness for this weekend’s trip to Stamford Bridge to meet Chelsea.

The 24-year-old would be expected to start on the bench in London, though the prospect of a competitive debut in the League Cup at Lincoln City days later awaits.

Xherdan Shaqiri has also recently returned to training after missing much of the pre-season period due to injury.
