Arsenal are considering a second offer from Aston Villa for Emi Martinez, Goal reports.
The Midlands club have submitted a bid, which is believed to be in excess of £15 million for the 28-year-old earlier this week.
Villa are now waiting on Arsenal to accept or reject it.
Their first bid for Martinez, which had arrived earlier in the summer, was turned down.
Arsenal are believed to value their goalkeeper at around £20m.
Martinez’s preference has always been to remain at the Emirates, but he knows he needs to be playing regularly to have a chance to become Argentina’s No.1.
With Germany international Leno to compete with, it is not yet clear who will start the new Premier League season at Fulham on Saturday as Mikel Arteta’s first choice.
