Former Liverpool assistant manager Zeljko Buvac admits falling out with Jurgen Klopp before his mysterious departure 18 months ago.

Buvac is now sporting director of Dynamo Moscow.

Speaking with Nobel, Buvac was then asked why he and Klopp split – a question that is yet to be properly answered by either party since his departure.

And, during the interview when the question was posed to Buvac, the studio lights began to flicker on and off.

He immediately said: “It’s a sign that this isn’t a good question!

“Everyone asks how and why, but people live together for 30 years and then they break up. It happens.”

On his move to Dynamo, Buvac continued: “There is something special about new beginnings and that is important to me.

“In addition, from the first negotiations it became clear that Dynamo are facing very big tasks.

“They want to win and go higher and I realised that with my experience and with my knowledge, I can help Dynamo achieve their goals.

“An additional motivation was that I would live in a new country, learn a new language and get to know the mentality.

“Moscow is a very beautiful and big city and I am interested in the prospect of elevating Dynamo.”
