Ebonyi Govt Partners USAID To Improve Quality Of Governance

The Ebonyi State government is to form a partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), aimed at improving the quality of governance in the state.

Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi disclosed this when he received a delegation from the United States Funded International Development Agency who paid him a courtesy visit at the government house, in Abakaliki the Ebonyi state capital.

According to the team leader and Country Director of USAID, Joe Abba said they are in the state to fashion-out ways through which USAID and the Ebonyi state government can work together in areas such as proper management of public finance, procurement of goods and services, strengthen the government’s ability to deliver better health, water and sanitation, and improved education.

While acknowledging the importance of the partnership, Governor Umahi urged USAID to look into ways of bridging the knowledge gap especially for those who are involved in the day-to-day running of the state.
