Bauchi APC alleges plan by PDP to rig council polls

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State has alleged plans by the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state to rig the election in Darazo Local Government Area of the State.

Adamu Maichi, the party chairman in the local government made the allegations in an interview with journalists monitoring the election on Saturday.

According to him, the APC will reject the outcome of the election if it doesn’t follow due process.

He said “I can authoritatively tell you that the PDP has concluded arrangements to rig the election because as we speak, they have blocked sensitive materials meant for many wards in the local government from reaching those wards.

“I’m just coming back from the Divisional Police Office where I went to report to the police, and what will surprise you is that those thugs who block the materials from reaching those wards are doing so in the presence of other security officials,” he alleged.

Reacting, Nasiru Darazo, a chieftain of the PDP in Darazo, debunked the allegations.

He said the PDP at the state level has made proper arrangements for peaceful and transparent elections, adding that anyone who wins the election will be declared winner irrespective of his party.
