Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has suspended the Special Adviser on Media, Salihu Tanko Yakasai over attack on President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a statement on Sunday by the State Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba said the “suspension is with immediate effect.”
While Yakasai has consistently maintained that the comment on President Buhari on his social media was a personal opinion, Governor Ganduje insisted that “as a public figure, it will be difficult to differentiate between personal opinion and official stand on matters of public concern.”
The Governor warned political appointees and public servants to guard against making statements “capable of drawing unnecessary controversy and heating up the polity.”
He however reaffirmed his commitment to the policies and programmes of President Buhari’s administration
