Several vehicles and other items estimated at millions of naira were in the early hours of on Wednesday razed at a mechanic workshop in Nkpor, Anambra State.
The incident occurred about 1.21am, said the state fire chief Martin Agbili.
He said, “We received a distress call of a fire outbreak at a mechanic workshop in Nkpor, and immediately, our three firefighting trucks and firefighters were deployed to the scene.”
Although, millions were lost in the fire, Agbili said their prompt intervention prevented more losses.
‘Properties worth millions of naira were saved. There was no loss of life. The cause of the fire outbreak is unknown but the fire has been completely extinguished and our fire trucks and firefighters have left the fire scene,” he said.
