Former 3SC chairman, Oyewole, is dead

A former board member of the Nigeria Football Association, Elder Bode Oyewole, has been reported dead.

The death of Oyewole, a former Chairman of Shooting Stars Sports Club, was confirmed by 3SC media officer Tosin Omojola on the club’s official social media platform.

He reportedly died on Tuesday morning in Ibadan, Oyo State after a brief illness.

The late sports administrator was 3SC chairman when the club won the double in 1998: the domestic league and the West African Football Union titles.

The deceased was a journalist before going into football administration, having worked at the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria.

He was the Chairman of the Oyo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists between 1978 and 1980 and was Chief Press Secretary to a former Oyo State Governor, Kolapo Ishola.

Oyewole is survived by his wife Abosede and children.
