Slimkidd: Expect loads of underground collaborations

Fast-Rising Nigerian rapper and singer, Jesse ‘Slimkidd’ Ogoke has told fans to expect loads of underground collaborations from him on his forthcoming mixtape.

The rapper who hails from Ehimembano in Imo state made this known in a recent interview.

He said “I have 2 mixtape projects coming up because right now I’m more focused on doing joint projects and working with really dope rap artists from Festac town like Philly black, Cham, Dre Sensei, Ebreezi and Yung Nero.

He continued “my music has evolved and it’s taken a whole lot of process to get to this point and soon the world will hear from me. My fans should expect loads of underground collaborations because I don’t believe in working with artistes because of fame, I actually want you to deliver on my beat so I’d be introducing a whole lot of unknown artists that are really talented and I’m blessed to be friends with”, said Slimkidd.

The mass communication graduate of Nnamdi Azikiwe University further revealed that he had been doing music since his secondary days but had his first recording track in his first year in school.

Speaking on what influences and inspires his sound, he said “Well I basically flirt around every genre of music, trap, rap, hip hop, Afro beats. I’m influenced by Eminem 50 cent, Dagrin, MI, Mode 9, Sinzu, 2Pac, Meek Mill, Kendrick Lamar. I’m inspired by my own story because I fought my way out of depression and lots of loneliness as a kid. Those were hard times so being able to overcome that pushes me to tell my story and make people believe in themselves and make them realize you can be whatever you wanna be as NAS.”
