Singer, Dare Agboola, aka Dareal, has said he is unique as an artiste because his songs bring relief to people who are troubled, rather than focus on mundane things.
In an interview with Sunday Scoop, he said, “One of my greatest motivations as an artiste is to show people that I’m real with my music. I also want to teach them certain truths about life give relief to people who are troubled. There is no doubt that Nigerian music is doing well all over the world right now but I would like to see artistes passing meaningful and deep messages in their music. They should also be creative and not just do what others have been doing, which is common in the industry now.”
The singer who is presently shooting videos for some of the songs contained in his new album, Undefeatable, also noted that it was financially draining being a budding artiste. “The biggest challenge I’m facing now is getting funds to properly promote my music and that is peculiar to most up-and-coming artists. Right now, I need a good promoter or record label that can effectively promote my music across the globe,” he said.
On what influenced the title of his album, he said, “The title, Undefeatable, was inspired by my experiences and my ability to scale through them and stand tall despite all.”
Dareal, who used to be part of a group called King of Boys also noted that he preferred being a solo act. He said, “I was once in a group but we separated due to some reasons we could not control. Since then, I have been a solo artiste and I actually prefer it that way because I can make decisions about my career the best way I want to.”
