Orkin Nigeria Limited is a registered Pest Control Company in Nigeria which is an independent franchise of ORKIN Incorporated U.S.A. – an Atlanta-based company that provides residential and commercial pest control services, a subsidiary of Rollins Inc. U.S.A.  Orkin Nigeria is the first Orkin Franchise in Africa.

We are looking for an Accounts/Finance Officer to manage financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets. The ideal candidate should also have excellent Information Technology (IT) skills and be able to handle time-sensitive tasks. Ultimately, the candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our financial transaction

Duties and Responsibilities

This is a crucial position in the company. Reporting to the Service Manager, the Accountant job description is a dynamic role with a multitude of responsibilities, including:

  • Examining bank statements and reconciling them with general ledger entries
  • Examining expenses submitted by employees
  • Keeping an eye on incoming payments from accounts receivable and outgoing payments from accounts payable
  • Creating company financial reports with the above information included
  • Analyzing data collected in order to determine the state of the company’s financial health
  • Analyzing data to understand where the company is generating and losing revenue
  • Examining the proficiency of the software programs used to organize data
  • Generating financial reports that display the company’s profits, equity and cash flow

Requirements

Work experience as an Accountant

Must be Honest, Dedicated: Devoted to a task or purpose with loyalty or integrity

Driving skills – must be able to Drive proficiently

Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Experience with general ledger functions

Hands-on experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, FreshBooks, Xero, etc.)

Excellent IT Skills including Managing Processes, Organization, Professionalism, Problem Solving, Verbal Communication,

Familiar with Operating systems (Windows and macOS), Office suites (Microsoft Office, G Suite), Presentation software (PowerPoint, Keynote), Spreadsheets (Excel, Google Spreadsheets, etc.), Communication and collaboration tools (Slack, Skype, etc.)

Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
