The Alumni Association of the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State has called on graduates of the institution to support the school financially to aid its development. The National President of the association, Ehinola Olufemi made this plea on Monday in Akure.
Olufemi stated that one major challenge facing the polytechnic is the poor internally generated revenue. According to him, the institution uses the revenue gotten internally plus the monthly allowance from the state government to support the running of the school. He, therefore, maintained that something needs to be done to strengthen that source of income.
He stressed the need to improve the financial strength of the institution so that it can attend to its obligations, one of which is the payment of pension and gratuities. The association appealed to all stakeholders to take the project like their own and contribute towards building a better Rufus Giwa Polytechnic.
